I had a hard time deciding on the rating star level for this app. It is an OK app and may be what some folks need, but it isnt for me. I debated between 3 stars and 2 stars and ultimately went with two because I would resort to my old notebook before continuing with this app. (As a side note, I will actually be continuing with JEFIT over this app or my notebook.) I really wanted to like this app because I love its companion app: MM+ My Macros.
Pros:
1. Convenient edit when you make a typo on the weight or reps. (That being said, I make plenty of typos having to key in each weight and rep since it doesnt use an entry wheel.)
2. I love the volume calculations per body part and muscle group.
3. I like the ability to e-mail the workout summary. Great for storing my history in my gmail account.
4. Integrates with MM+ My Macros.
Cons:
1. I prefer an entry wheel, over key-in number pad, that would allow
a) preset with my last lift data, or
b) be preset with my targets.
Keying in everything after each set is tedious and error prone.
2. When adding the next set, I may not recall my target weight and reps from last week. Other apps let me see it on the same screen. With this app, I have to click history, look at the data, do the set, then type in what I did. It would be nice if everything was on one screen and there was a better work flow.
3. I would like to be able to populate, in advance, with the # of sets and even with the weight and rep targets. Adding each additional set on the fly is too much work.
4. The timer is on a separate screen. It would be better to be able to enter your weight and reps, and then hit "save" or "save and start timer." This would automatically start the timer. Once the timer expires, it should take you to the screen to enter your next set automatically. Also, an audible alert on the timer would be nice.
5. I wish there was a web version of the app where you could review and edit your data, instead of just being limited to the phone (and to the e-mailed reports.)
Bottom line, the app works as designed and is not "buggy," but it just isnt for me. All the features I "wished" for are currently available in JEFIT.
